City Secretary

Nancy Downes

The City Secretary supports, facilitates and strengthens the governmental process by:

  • Assisting the City Council in fulfilling its duties and responsibilities;
  • Improving the public access to municipal records and other information;
  • Enhancing public participation in municipal government processes;
  • Safeguarding the municipal elections and records management processes;
  • Providing continuity for city government by recording its legislative actions, both contemporary and archival;
  • Serving as historian for the city;
  • Providing daily assistance to all administrative departments of the city government.

Finance

Our fiscal year runs from October 1st through September 30th. The budget is prepared and sent to the City Council for approval typically at the regular City Council meeting each September. Financials are normally audited in the Fall following fiscal year end.
